Alvin 'Bud' Dupree Jr. is an American football linebacker for the Los Angeles Chargers in the NFL. The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted Dupree as their 22nd pick in the first round of the 2015 NFL Draft. He began his collegiate career with the University of Kentucky in 2011. As a freshman in 2011, Dupree played 12 games as a linebacker and recorded 21 tackles and 2.5 sacks. As a sophomore in 2012, Dupree played all 12 games in the regular season and recorded 91 tackles and 12.5 tackles-for-loss. As a junior in 2013, Dupree played in 11 games and recorded 61 tackles, seven sacks, and two forced fumbles. Due to his amazing performance, he was second-team All-SEC the same year. In 2014, Dupree returned as a starter at defensive end and was voted team captain for the Wildcats. He had 74 tackles, 12.5 tackles-for-loss, and eight sacks, started all 12 games, and recorded his first career interception the same season.
Dupree graduated from the University of Kentucky with a degree in community and leadership development in 2015. Dupree attended Wilkinson County High School, where he began his football career. As a senior in high school, he recorded 10 touchdowns on offense 62 tackles, and 10 sacks on defense. Due to his performances, Dupree was voted First-team all-state by the Georgia Sports-writer Association and Atlanta Journal-Constitution the same year.
