Cameron Jurgens is an American football center for the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL. Growing up in Pickrell, he attended Beatrice High School. He was a versatile player who could play tight end, linebacker and punter as well. In his senior year, catching 17 catches for 277 yards and ran for 318 yards and eight touchdowns. Jurgens was selected for the first team of the Lincoln Journal Star Super-State and Omaha World-Herald All-Nebraska. Jurgens was rated as a four-star recruit by 247Sports and ESPN.
Jurgens committed to his home state representing the Cornhuskers for the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. He became a starter in his redshirt freshman year in 2019. Moreover, he became the first Husker freshman to start a game at center since 1972. Jurgens received many honours like Third-Team All-Big Ten (2021, Coaches), Academic All-Big Ten (2019, 2020, 2021), Rimington Trophy Watch List (2021), Nebraska Offensive Lineman of the Year (2021).
