Dalton Schultz currently plays as a tight end for the Houston Texans in the NFL and wears the number eighty-six jersey. He became a part of the team in 2023. He used to play for the Dallas Cowboys in 2018 after being chosen as the 107th overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft.

Shultz stands at an amazing six feet and five inches and weighs 244 lbs. This gives the player the physicality of an amazing tight end. Because of his amazing athleticism granted to him by his body, his stats also speak for themselves. As of 2023, his career NFL statistics reflect a total of 270 receptions, accumulating 2,757 receiving yards and scoring 22 receiving touchdowns.

Schultz went to Bingham High School in South Jordan, Utah, where he participated in football and basketball. In his senior year, he had notable achievements, catching 31 passes for 512 yards and nine touchdowns in football. Over his high school career, he totaled 76 receptions for 1,120 yards and 12 touchdowns.

In January 2014, he committed to playing college football for the Stanford Cardinal. He had received a football scholarship to Stanford University, commencing his college journey in 2014 as a true freshman. However, he did not play any games and was redshirted that year. In the subsequent 2015 season as a redshirt freshman, he played in all 14 games, serving as a backup to Austin Hooper and making 10 receptions for 121 yards along with one touchdown.

Advancing to his sophomore year in 2016, Schultz became the designated starter after Hooper declared for the NFL Draft. Participating in all 13 games, he recorded 23 receptions for 222 yards (placing fourth on the team) and one touchdown. Schultz earned honourable-mention All-Pac-12 recognition and contributed significantly to blocking for running backs Christian McCaffrey and Bryce Love.

Before the 2017 season, Schultz was named to the John Mackey Award watch list. Throughout the 13 games that season, he predominantly played a blocking role, securing 22 receptions for 212 yards (ranking fifth on the team) and three touchdowns. His efforts were instrumental in supporting running back Bryce Love, who rushed for an impressive 2,118 yards. Schultz's outstanding performance led to his inclusion in the All-Pac-12 First Team, and he declared for the 2018 NFL Draft following the season.
