Nicknamed ‘Big Play Slay’, Darius Slay has indeed made a name for himself in the National Football League. Slay is one of the best football cornerbacks in the league, currently representing the Philadelphia Eagles. He initiated his NFL journey with the Detroit Lions and after spending seven seasons with them, he was later traded to the Eagles. Despite having a rough start, he steadily established his foothold in the league. For his performance during the 2017 season, he earned his first Pro Bowl Selection and as of now, he has made appearances in the Pro Bowl five times.

He began his football journey at Brunswick High School in Brunswick, Georgia, where in addition to football, he also participated in basketball and track and field. After high school, he initially attended Itawamba Community College, but later transferred to Mississippi State University. He committed to playing college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs and the alum had a stellar collegiate career. He concluded his collegiate career at Mississippi State with 64 tackles, six interceptions and two touchdowns.

In 2013, Slay made his NFL debut after being selected as the 36th overall pick by the Lions in the second round of the 2013 NFL Draft. As mentioned earlier, he was traded to the Eagles in 2020. Regardless of the team, he has made significant contributions to the league.
