Edward Oliver is an American football defensive tackle for the Buffalo Bills in the NFL. The Bills drafted Oliver with the ninth overall pick in the first round of the 2019 NFL draft. Oliver was named to the PFWA All-First Team, after finishing his rookie season with 43 total tackles and 5 sacks. Oliver recorded 23 solo tackles and 3 sacks in the next season in 2020. Oliver started all 17 games in 2021 and finished with 41 total tackles. In 2022, the Bills picked up the fifth-year option on Oliver’s contract and signed a four-year contract extension with the Bills a year later in 2023.

Oliver made a college football commitment to the University of Houston in 2016. He started all 12 of his games as a rookie while finishing with five sacks and sixty tackles. He was named the Bill Willis Trophy winner—becoming the first rookie to win the award. Oliver was chosen for the Walter Camp All-American first-team and won the Outland Trophy in his sophomore year. At the conclusion of his junior year, Oliver announced that he would forgo his senior year to pursue the 2019 NFL Draft. Before playing collegiate football, Oliver played high school football at Westfield High School, earning 84 tackles and seven sacks in his junior year and nine sacks in his senior year.
