George Karlaftis is an American defensive end who was drafted in the first round of the 2022 NFL Draft by the Kansas City Chiefs. Karlaftis won Super Bowl LVII in 2023 and Super Bowl LVIII in 2024 with the team. During his rookie season, he earned a spot on the 2022 PFWA All-Rookie Team. As of January 2025, he has recorded 115 total tackles, including 68 solo tackles and 24.5 sacks.

Karlaftis played for the Purdue Boilermakers from 2019 to 2021, representing Purdue University at the collegiate level. Over his collegiate career, he recorded a total of 99 tackles and 14.5 sacks in 27 games as per Sports Reference. He secured a spot on the Second-Team All-Big Ten both in 2019 and 2020 and was named a First-Team All-American in 2021. Before playing college football at Purdue, Karlaftis played high school football at West Lafayette High School and led them to the Indiana Class 3A state title according to the Purdue website. He was also named Indiana Class 3A Player of the Year.
