One of the most intriguing personalities on the Kansas City Chiefs' current roster is their starting running back Isiah Pacheco. What is unique about Pacheco is his style of running with the ball. There have been numerous running backs in the past and even in the modern game of American football who are known for their aggressive running on the field. However, with Pacheco, the aggression is equally accompanied by the level of determination that is rarely seen on the turf.

Only in his two seasons in the NFL, two-time SB champion Pacheco has become an important cog in the Kansas City Chiefs’ offensive structure. As he continues to excel in his ground attack, Chiefs would be relying heavily on him in the upcoming 2024 season. With the Chiefs' offense struggling due to their receiving core last year, the dink and dunk passes to Pacheco had been quite useful throughout the 2023 season.

Now that Pacheco is on his way to establish himself as one of the better running backs in today’s game, let us take a look at some of his key attributes.

Isiah Pacheco Age

First and foremost Pacheco’s age is 25 years old as of August 2024. He was born on March 2, 1999, in Vineland, New Jersey and grew up in a family of seven with parents, Felicia Cannon and Julio Pacheco along with four other siblings.

Growing up in New Jersey, he wanted to remain loyal to the state and as a result, he attended high school and college in New Jersey. In high school, Pacheco played as a quarterback as well as a running back for Vineland High School’s Fighting Clan football team.

At the age of 19, he attended Rutgers University in New Jersey where he spent four years. He played on the Rutgers Scarlet Knights football team from his freshman year till his senior year as a running back. Less than two months after turning 23, Pacheco was drafted to the NFL in the seventh round by the Kansas City Chiefs.

How tall is Isiah Pacheco?

Pacheco stands at 5 ft 10 in (1.78 m) in height. As a running back it does not make much difference that he is under 6 feet tall. Most of the players in the league in other positions are above 6 feet in height and some positions even average around 6 ft 3 in or more as well.

However, the advantage that Pacheco gets from his height is that he is quicker, more agile, and shiftier than taller backs. With a lower center of gravity, Paheco can dodge tackles at ease and this can be witnessed through various runs he has had for the Chiefs in just two years.

How much does Isiah Pacheco weigh?

Pacheco weighs approximately 216 lb (98 kg). The average weight of running backs in the modern day is around 214 lb which is very close to where Pacheco’s weight lies. However, he has a strong frame and a robust build which allows him to power through even in the most precarious of positions.

Numerous times the Rutgers alumni has shown the ability to break tackles, surge ahead, and even require multiple defenders to finally bring him down. This ability comes from his weight balance and strength and enables him to pick up excessive yardage which otherwise wouldn’t have been possible.

Isiah Pacheco 40 time

Officially, Pacheco ran a 4.37-second 40-yard dash at the Combine that year placing him as the fastest running back in that year’s Combine.

In general, the average time for running backs in the 40-yard dash is around 4.49 seconds. This goes to show that Pacheco is quite fast even for a running back and along with his speed he brings a lot of energy every time he steps on the turf and that has been the hallmark of his game up until now.
