He was born on March 2, 1999, and is a native of Vineland, New Jersey, U.S. He was chosen by the Kansas City Chiefs as the 251st overall pick in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft.

He participated in Pop Warner Football with the Vineland Blitz in Cumberland County, New Jersey, and went on to attend Vineland High School. At Vineland High School, he played in both quarterback and running back positions. In his senior year, he led the Fighting Clan to a commanding victory in the Thanksgiving Day Classic against rival Millville Senior High School Thunderbolts.

Pacheco was given offers of recruitment football programs such as Syracuse, Maryland, Rutgers, Virginia Tech, and others along the East Coast. Ultimately, he made his commitment to Rutgers University. Throughout his four collegiate seasons, Pacheco consistently contributed on the field, amassing 563 rushing attempts for 2,442 yards with an average of 4.3 yards per carry, and scoring 18 touchdowns. He also demonstrated versatility by catching 47 passes for 249 yards and one touchdown.
