In just his third year in the NFL, Ja’Marr Chase has easily become the go-to option for the Bengals quarterbacks as he has time and again come through with big plays. Chase, who was born in Harvey, Louisiana, grew up as a big fan of the New Orleans Saints and always had American football close to his heart.

Covering Chase down the field is a tall task for the opposition defenses and at times they have to double-team him. Even when he is covered by multiple defenders Chase has the uncanny knack of coming down with the ball in his hands.

Even though he has some great physical qualities that make him an outstanding wideout, it is his mental aspect while playing the game that is equally good. Chase always wants to be the one to have the ball in his hands even when he is in a 50-50 situation. According to him, either he will catch it, the opponent will catch it, or it will go to the ground. The Louisiana native goes up for every ball believing that he will catch it.

But getting to the NFL is no easy task as can be verified by all the players who have reached their destination. For that, having a great support system at home does play a crucial role. So, let us now find out more about Chase’s support system, his parents.

Chase was born on March 1, 2000, in Harvey, Louisiana to parents Jimmy and Toleah Chase. Both parents have been very supportive of his career and have pushed him hard to help him achieve his dream of one day playing in the NFL.

For both Jimmy and Toleah, watching their son light up the football field in the NFL is nothing new as they have witnessed his abilities from the time he was in high school. A four-star recruit out of high school, Chase continued to dominate even at Louisiana State University (LSU) as a member of the Tigers football team.

Who is Ja’Marr Chase’s mother?

Chase’s mother, Toleah Chase shares a great bond with son. She recalls that when he was a small boy he had so much energy that he would tire out Toleah and her husband. Today, she wonders how that same boy has become so calm and collected.

After his first paycheck, Chase proceeded to buy his mother a brand-new black Maserati and also paid off the mortgage on her house. At the time of Chase’s draft, his mother sent him a message through a letter expressing how proud and happy she was to have seen him work hard for his dream to come to fruition.

Who is Ja’Marr Chase’s Father?

Chase’s father, Jimmy Chase is a Case Manager at Criminal District Court Parish of Orleans and a Drug Court Clinician as per his LinkedIn bio.

He shared a bit of a shaky relationship with his son during Chase’s teenage years. His father had enrolled him in football as he was hyperenergetic and was a handful to handle at home. Little did he know then that his son would one day play in the NFL.

However, even though the father and son duo had some difficult moments in the past, his father claims that he was hard on him to help him become the best version that he could be. In a video he filmed for his son during his NFL draft, Jimmy Chase expresses that he was only trying to look out for the future benefit of Ja’Marr.

Jimmy further goes on to express how super proud he is of his son for taking all the information he gave him and using it positively to succeed in life.

What Nationality are Ja’Marr Chase’s Parents?

Both of Chase’s parents are American by nationality.
