California-born cornerback Jaylon Lawrence Johnson was drafted by the Chicago Bears in the 2020 round. The second-round pick also participated in the Combine event where he ranked second among the cornerbacks in terms of production score (85). Johnson played for the University of Utah and is a two-time PAC-12 All-Academic. He made 38 appearances and is ranked 10th for career pass breakups (21) in Utah’s all-time list. Growing up in Fresno, California, Johnson attended Central High School. He was rated as a four-star prospect by Rivals and Scout and was also invited to the US Army All-American Bowl. Johnson captained his team through high school and is a lettered three years in basketball.

Johnson became the Bears’ regular cornerback in 2021. Over his four seasons with the Bears, Johnson has started all 53 of his games while recording 161 tackles, five interceptions, and 41 pass breakups. As his rookie contract came to an end in 2023, Johnson signed a four-year extension worth $76 million with the Bears in March 2024.
