Mike McCarthy is a professional American football coach in the NFL. He was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania on November 10, 1963. As of December 2024, he is 61 years old. McCarthy in his coaching career has guided and elevated many teams like Kansas City Chiefs, Green Bay Packers, New Orleans Saints, Pittsburgh Steelers, and Dallas Cowboys. Over the years McCarthy has worked in multiple different coaching positions, and as of December 2024, he serves as the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys. Before pursuing coaching as his profession Mike McCarthy used to play college football with the Fighting Artichokes football team. He played with them for only one season and then transferred to Baker University. He did not play college football after his sophomore season instead he decided to shift his attention and focus on his coaching career. During his college football career, he was named the team's MVP in 1986, and also a two-time all-conference selection.

His professional career as a professional coach in the National Football League began in 1993 when he was hired by the Kansas City Chiefs as their offensive quality control coach. As the years went by McCarthy joined many teams and continued to gain more and more experience. In 2006, he was hired by the Green Bay Packers as their head coach. His biggest moment in his career came in 2011, when he led the Packers to the Super Bowl XLV where the Packers defeated the Pittsburgh Steelers. After serving the Packers for more than a decade McCarthy was released by them in 2018. He did not join any team in 2019 as he took a year-long break but in 2020 he was hired by Dallas Cowboys as their head coach.

Jessica Kress is McCarthy's second wife; he was first married to his high school love Christine the couple got divorced in 1995. Mike McCarthy has a total of five kids two from his previous marriage, two with his current wife Jessica, and a stepson from Jessica's previous marriage.
