Peyton Hillis

Peyton Hillis, the former NFL running back, was born in Conway Arkansas and was highly regarded in his ability to play American football during college. Born in January 1986, the now 37 year old retired from the game way back in 2015. However, he was just recently in the news after incredibly saving his son and niece from drowning. Unfortunately the horrific accident put Hillis in a critical state where he was battling for his life. He spent many weeks in the intensive care unit and was released from the hospital soon afterwards.

After finishing high school, Peyton had offers from a number of well known and reputed Universities, yet he decided to complete his college education at the University of Arkansas. In his four years at Arkansas, he mostly played in games as a fullback. At times, along with his fullback duties he was also helping the team by returning punts and kickoffs.

Peyton was part of the 2008 NFL Draft in which he was selected by the Denver Broncos in the 7th and final round. In the couple of seasons he was with the Broncos, he played in many games but started only a handful of them. Following a fallout with the Broncos’ Head Coach, Hillis was traded to the Cleveland Browns. His first year in Cleveland was a huge success and it turned out to be the best season of his professional career. After the end of the season, he had gained a lot of popularity among the fans so much so that he was made the cover of EA Sports Madden NFL 12. Unfortunately, though, the Madden curse took over and Hillis’ career got derailed with various injuries and some contractual problems. In the end, by 2015 he announced his retirement on the advice of doctors who told him that there could be potential complications if he continued playing an account of suffering so many concussions.

According to the various sources, Peyton Hillis’ net worth is approximately $13 million. He has earned most of this large amount on the back of his seven year NFL career. As luck would have it, he had to retire prematurely from the game on account of various concussions. Had that not been the case, Hillis could have earned an even bigger fortune by now. Since then, in 2021 he also starred in a movie called ‘The Hunting’ in which he had a significant part.
