Quinyon Keaaron Mitchell is an American football cornerback for the Philadelphia Eagles, as of the 2024 NFL season. The Eagles selected him as the 22nd overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. Mitchell was born in Williston, Florida. He attended Williston High School in his hometown, where he played football, basketball, and track. He earned three letters at Williston and had 86 tackles, 19 pass deflections, and eight interceptions in his football career. He also played on offense and had 983 running yards and 11 touchdowns with a 9.5 yards-per-carry average as a senior in 2019. He attended the University of Toledo and committed to playing collegiate football with the Toledo Rockets after receiving a three-star recruiting ranking. Mitchell played all six games as a true freshman in the COVID-19-shortened 2020 season, recording seven tackles. He subsequently started all 13 games as cornerback in 2021, with 34 tackles, eight pass breakups, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and a sack.
Mitchell remained a full-time starter in 2022, starting all 14 games and recording 41 tackles, 25 passes defended (leading the nation), five interceptions, and 3.5 tackles for loss. He received Second-team All-American as well as First-team All-Mid-American Conference (MAC) honors in 2022. Mitchell finished the first 13 games of the 2023 season with 41 total tackles, 18 passes defended, and one interception. He was nominated a semifinalist for the Chuck Bednarik Award, becoming Toledo's first player to receive the distinction, and he was named a first-team All-American, becoming the school's second consecutive All-American.
