Raheem Morris is an American football head coach for the Atlanta Falcons, as of the 2024 NFL season. His NFL coaching career began in 2002, when he joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a defensive quality control coach, after serving as an intern with the New York Jets. Since then, he has helped several teams by serving in various coaching roles. Notably, he also held the head coach position with the Buccaneers from 2009 to 2011.

Morris attended Irvington High School in Irvington, Essex County, New Jersey, and later enrolled at Hofstra University, where he played safety from 1994 to 1997. He graduated with a degree in Physical Education in 1998. That same year, he began his career as an assistant coach at Hofstra University.

Hofstra (1998)

Morris joined Hofstra University as a graduate assistant in 1998, where he was responsible for coaching the offensive scout team.

Cornell (1999)

In 1999, he joined Cornell University as the defensive backs coach and special teams assistant.

Hofstra (2000-2001)

He returned to Hofstra as the defensive backs coach in 2000 and interned with the New York Jets in 2001.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2002)

In 2002, Morris joined the Tampa Bay Buccaneers as a defensive quality control coach and helped the team win Super Bowl XXXVII, defeating the Oakland Raiders 48–21.

In 2003, he served as a defensive assistant and was later assigned as the assistant defensive backs coach in 2004.

Kansas State University (2006)

In 2006, he became the defensive coordinator at Kansas State, under head coach Ron Prince and assisted the defense lead in several statistical categories during that season.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2007-2011)

In 2007, he rejoined the Buccaneers as the defensive backs coach and was eventually promoted to head coach from 2009. However on January 2, 2012, Morris was fired as head coach of the Buccaneers after a 4–12 season, including losing their last 10 games during the 2011 NFL season.

Washington Redskins (2012–2014)

From 2012 to 2014, Morris was the defensive backs coach for the Washington Redskins.

Atlanta Falcons (2015-2020)

He then joined the Atlanta Falcons in 2015 as an assistant head coach, defensive backs coach, and defensive pass game coordinator. From 2016 to 2019, he held the role of assistant head coach, wide receivers coach, and offensive pass game coordinator.

In 2020, he was promoted to defensive coordinator for the Falcons and served as interim head coach that same year.

Los Angeles Rams (2021-2023)

In 2021, Morris became the defensive coordinator for the Los Angeles Rams and remained with the team until 2023. Notably, he won his second Super Bowl with the team in 2022, defeating the Cincinnati Bengals 23-20.

Atlanta Falcons (2024–present)

As of 2024, he serves as the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons.

Morris played college football at Hofstra University, where he was a safety from 1994 to 1997. During his time there, he recorded 141 tackles and won the Mayor’s Trophy in 1997, according to the official website of Hofstra University. However, Morris never played in the NFL.
