Samuel Cosmi is an American football guard for the Washington Commanders in the NFL. Born on February 16, 1999, in Humble, Texas, Cosmi played high school football at Atascocita High School. He earned first-team All-District and second-team All-State honors as a senior. He initially committed to play collegiate football at Houston, but switched to the Texas Longhorns after coach Tom Herman was hired there. After a stellar collegiate career at Texas, the Commanders selected him as the 51st pick in the secound round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Cosmi started his rookie season as the team’s right tackle but faced challenges including an ankle and hip injury, which limited his playtime to only nine games.
