Trenton Irwin

Trenton "Trent" Irwin, NFL's Cincinnati Bengals wide receiver, was born on December 10, 1995. He began playing football at the age of three and began acting in commercials with his father by age seven, balancing both simultaneously. He went to the William S. Hart High School in California. In 2015, he enrolled at Stanford University and finished his college career with 152 receptions for 1,738 receiving yards and five touchdowns, while also returning 20 punts for 230 yards in 2018.

Irwin was selected by the Miami Dolphins in 2019 for the practice squad, though he went undrafted. In the same year, he was chosen by the Cincinnati Bengals for the practice squad but was promoted to the active roster in three months. Since then, he has been back and forth on the practice squad and active roster, and his most recent one-year contract was signed in March 2024, worth $1.48 million. In 34 games (starting seven), he has recorded 62 targets, 43 receptions for 586 yards, five touchdowns, and 137 return yards as of 2023.

Who are Trenton Irwin’s parents?

Trenton Irwin was born to Craig and Ericka Irwin on December 10, 1995, in Valencia, California, U.S.

Trenton Irwin's father

Irwin's father, Craig Irwin, is a veteran character actor who has starred in a number of television series and commercials. According to the L.A. Times, when Trenton was younger, the whole family—Craig, his wife Ericka, Trenton, and his younger siblings Alyssa, Shawn, and Ava—went to casting calls together. A Bravo reality series called "Sports Kids, Moms & Dads" also featured the family in 2005.

Irwin started to carry a football everywhere at the age of three, and his father Craig was motivated by the 10,000 hours of purposeful practice theory that became well-known with the release of Malcolm Gladwell's best-selling book "Outliers." Trenton was supposed to catch two hundred balls a day. “It was kind of obsessive,” Craig stated, “but fun.” Ericka filled in for Craig on the days he was not available to throw passes.

Trenton got his start in acting when a casting director requested Craig to bring his son, who was 7 years old at the time, to the audition for a Nissan SUV ad. According to the Cincinnati Bengals website, he acted in 15 commercials before deciding to focus solely on football because his acting career was interfering with his football career.
