In his interview with NFL, McBride mentioned how supportive and caring both his parents have been to him and his siblings. He also mentioned how rarely they missed his sporting events.
In the same interview, Jen McBride mentioned how the family moved from a bigger city to Fort Morgan, Colorado. Kate and Jen were some of the first gay or lesbian couples in Fort Morgan when they arrived, according to McBride’s older brother Toby. Both parents surprised McBride when they went to his college campus to let him know he won the Mackey award.
