Michael Mayer is an American football tight end who played college football at the University of Notre Dame. He was born on May 22, 2002, in Alexandria, Kentucky, United States. Mayer was a highly-touted recruit coming out of high school and was ranked as one of the top tight ends in the country. He committed to Notre Dame and had an impressive freshman season in 2020, catching 42 passes for 450 yards and 2 touchdowns. He was named to the Freshman All-America First Team by the Football Writers Association of America and was also named to the All-ACC First Team.
Mayer is expected to have a bright future in football and is considered a top NFL draft prospect for the future.
