Alex Daniel Tuch is a professional ice hockey right winger currently playing with the Buffalo Sabres. Born on May 10, 1996, Alex has had a promising NHL career so far. Alex has been determined to ice hockey since the early days. As a youth, he played with the Syracuse Jr. Stars, showcasing an excellent score of 101 points in just 40 games, including 44 goals and 57 assists.

The right winger progressed and joined the USA Hockey National Team Development Program. He played the 2012-2013 season with the U17 team, contributing 26 points, 11 goals, and 15 assists in 56 games. The following season, 2013-2014, Alex progressed where he finished third with 63 points with 29 goals and 34 assists, indicating both scoring ability and playmaking skills. He attended Boston College and played college hockey, significantly contributing his efforts to his team's success. His contribution to the team further opened the doors for his career in the NHL.

Alex Tuch’s career

Alex's NHL journey began when the Minnesota Wild selected him in the first round, 18th overall, in the 2014 NHL Entry draft. Alex debuted in the NHL for the 2016-2017 season; he evolved in his professional career with Minnesota, showcasing his physical strength and scoring ability. However, his journey with Wild Minnesota only continued for a short period. The following year, he was traded to the Vegas Golden Knights in the 2017 NHL Expansion draft.

Alex showcased both his offensive and defensive skills with the Golden Knights. His techniques and scoring ability made Alex a valuable asset to the team. He was traded to the Buffalo Sabres in 2021 after playing with the Golden Knights for a long time.

In 2022, Alex scored the first hat trick of his career against the Calgary Flames. Alex has represented the USA in various international tournaments. One major achievement was winning the gold medal at the IIHF World Junior Championship in 2014 and a bronze medal at the U17 Hockey Challenge in 2013.

The 27-year-old right-winger was selected in the first round as the 18th overall 2014 Entry draft by the Minnesota Wild. He has played a total of 379 games in his seven-season career and earned 256 points. In the playoffs, Alex has earned 33 points in just 66 games.

Alex is set to earn a salary of $4,750,000 for the 2023-2024 season. He has signed two contracts throughout his career, first with the Minnesota Wild for three years worth $4,050,000 with a cap hit of $925,000. Another contract was worth $33,250,000 for seven years with The Vegas Golden Knights, in which his cap hit was $4,750,000. The accumulation of all his contracts is $37,300,000 in value. Alex will be a free agent after the 2025-2026 season.

Alex was born in Syracuse, New York, USA, on May 10, 1996; he is 27 years old as of 2023. His parents are Carl Tuch and Sharon Tuch. He has two younger siblings, a sister and a twin brother. Alex grew up in Baldwinsville, New York, and went to Boston College to play hockey.
