Barclay Goodrow is a Canadian NHL forward who currently serves as an alternate captain for the New York Rangers. Notably, Goodrow embarked on his professional hockey journey with the San Jose Sharks after debuting in 2014 through the team's development camp. Goodrow eventually made his debut against the Minnesota Wild in a 4-3 loss and was later re-assigned to the American Hockey League affiliate, the Worcester Sharks. However, he spent the subsequent seasons saw him transition between the AHL's San Jose Barracuda and the Sharks, where his performance caught the attention of coaches and fans alike and was awarded with a a two-year contract extension in 2017.
In 2020, Goodrow joined the Tampa Bay Lightning, where he played a pivotal role in their back-to-back Stanley Cup victories. His tenure with the Lightning saw him notch eight goals and 26 points in 106 regular-season games. His success continued with the New York Rangers, where he signed a multi-year deal in 2021.
