Catton was born on January 14, 2006, and began his career with the Saskatchewan Jr. Pats at the Brick Invitational where he demonstrated early promise by scoring nine points in six games. He later transitioned through various leagues, including the SAAHL U15 with the Saskatoon Outlaws and Saskatoon Bandits while having 108-point season in 2019-20. However, his most remarkable moment came when he was selected as the first overall pick by the Spokane Chiefs in the WHL Bantam Draft.

Moreover, Berkly Catton represented Canada with distinction. In 2022, he contributed to Canada Red's silver medal at the U17 level, scoring 12 points in 7 games. The following year, in the U18 category, Catton helped Canada secure a bronze medal, recording 4 points in 7 games. His most notable achievement came in 2023 at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup, where he captained Canada to a gold medal, leading the team with 10 points in 5 games.
