Dominik Kubalik, born on August 21, 1995, is a Czech professional ice hockey forward, currently playing for the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected as the 191st overall pick in the seventh round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings. Kubalik began his career with the HC Plzen organization in the Czech Republic during the 2010-11 season. He soon found his way to the Sudbury Wolves in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL). After tallying 34 points in 67 games in the 2012-13 season, the Los Angeles Kings took notice of his talents and picked him in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Kubalik then returned to the Wolves for the 2013-14 season. On January 10, 2014, he was part of a trade to the Kitchener Rangers, along with two second-round draft picks, in exchange for Radek Faksa.

However, he returned back to HC Plzen on a two-year contract before signing a three-year deal with the HC Ambri-Piotta of the National League (NL). On January 24,2019, Kubalik’s NHL rights were acquired by the Chicago Blackhawks in a trade for a 2019 fifth-round pick. He concluded the 2018-19 season with 57 points in 50 games and earned recognition as the most valuable player in the Switzerland Hockey National League. His stint with the Blackhawks was fairly successful as he made the NHL All-Rookie Team in 2020 in addition to 47 goals and 37 assists across two seasons with the team. However, after the completion of the 2021-22 season, Kubalik was released to free agency and joined the Detroit Red Wings. Kubalik was part of a trade deal on July 9, 2023, where he was sent to the Ottawa Senators along with Donovan Sebrango, a conditional first-round pick in the 2024 draft, and a fourth-round pick in the same year, in exchange for Alex DeBrincat.
