Mathew Barzal, born on May 26, 1997, is a Canadian professional ice hockey forward currently playing for the New York Islanders in the National Hockey League (NHL). He was drafted by the Islanders in the first round, 16th overall, in the 2015 NHL Entry Draft. Barzal earned the Calder Memorial Trophy as the NHL's top rookie in the 2017–18 season, becoming the fifth Islander to receive this honor.

Throughout his NHL career, Barzal has achieved numerous milestones and accolades. He scored his first NHL point on October 15, 2017, and his first NHL goal on October 19 of the same year. Notably, he set records for assists by a rookie and tied the franchise record for points in a game by a rookie. Barzal's exceptional performances continued, including achieving his first multi-goal game and hat-trick in the NHL.

Beyond individual achievements, Barzal has contributed to team successes, notably during the 2020 Stanley Cup playoffs. He signed a three-year contract extension in January 2021 and later inked an eight-year extension in October 2022. In his 400th NHL regular season game on January 1, 2023, Barzal scored his 100th career goal.

Where does Mathew Barzal live?

As of now, Mathew Barzal's current residence is not publicly known.

However, during his rookie years, he used to live in a place called "Haus Seidenberg," where he occupied the basement suite of the family home. This living arrangement was not uncommon in the world of professional hockey, as experienced players often welcome rookies into their homes for support and guidance. Barzal opted for this arrangement due to feeling uncertain about transitioning to the NHL and living alone.

His living situation reflected his close relationship with the Seidenberg family, particularly with Dennis Seidenberg, a 42-year-old veteran player with extensive international competition experience and a Stanley Cup win. Despite their differences in age, experience, position, and hometowns, their bond transcended these disparities.
