Morgan Rielly is a defenseman and alternate captain for the Toronto Maple Leafs as of May 2025. Drafted fifth overall in the 2012 NHL Entry Draft, he briefly played for the AHL's Toronto Marlies before securing a spot on the Leafs' roster for the 2013-14 season.

He made his NHL debut on October 5, 2013, against the Ottawa Senators and scored his first goal on December 16, 2013, against Marc-André Fleury. Rielly's breakthrough came in the 2015-16 season, playing all 82 games and recording 36 points. His strong performance earned him a six-year, $30 million contract extension in 2016. He later signed an eight-year, $60 million extension in 2021.
