Patrice Bergeron-Cleary is a retired Canadian ice hockey center who played 19 seasons of his career in the National Hockey League (NHL) with the Boston Bruins. Notably, he also served as the team captain in his latter years and ended his career while holding many Bruins and League records.
Bergeron was drafted 45th overall by the Bruins in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft and gained recognition for his exceptional two-way abilities, winning the Frank J. Selke Trophy six times throughout his career. He was also the recipient of the King Clancy Memorial Trophy, Mark Messier Leadership Award, Elizabeth C. Durfresne, Bruins Three Stars Awards, John P. Bucyk Award and Eddie Shore Award among many other top honors.
Internationally, Bergeron represented Canada, winning gold medals at various tournaments, including the World Championships, World Junior Championships, Winter Olympics, and the Spengler Cup. He is also a member of the Triple Gold Club, clinching the Stanley Cup with Boston in 2011, where he notably scored the Cup-winning goal in Game 7 against the Vancouver Canucks.
