Born on September 20, 1988, in Novokuznetask, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, Bobrovsky began his career with the Metallurg Novokuznetask in the Russian Superleague (RSL). During his tenure with the Jackets, he earned Two-All Star Game selections and was awarded with the Vezina Trophy for his performances. Moreover, he recorded the most wins for a Columbus Blue Jackets goaltender in a season (41 wins in 2016-17) and shares the record for most consecutive wins in one NHL regular season -14 ( November 29, 2016 to January 3, 2017).
