Under her leadership, the team secured a third-place finish in the state tournament which was the best finish of that school. Following her high school success, Vandersloot joined the Gonzaga Bulldogs women's basketball team in 2007. During her college career, she received significant achievements, including being named the WCC Player of the Year three times and earning the WCC Tournament MVP title on three occasions.

In the 2011 WNBA draft, Vandersloot was selected 3rd overall by the Chicago Sky. Throughout her WNBA career, she has established herself as one of the league's premier playmakers and efficient shooters, leading the league in assists seven times and earning five All-Star selections.
