Nyara Sabally is a basketball player who plays for the New York Liberty in the WNBA as of September 2024. She was born on 26th February 2000, in Berlin, Germany. At Oregon University, Nyara Sabally missed her first two seasons due to a torn ACL. In her sophomore year (2020–21), she played 23 games, leading the team in scoring (12.9 PPG), rebounding (7.3 RPG) and double-doubles (4), earning All-Pac-12 honors. In her junior year, she once again led the team in scoring and rebounding, securing back-to-back All-Pac-12 selections.

Nyara Sabally was selected fifth overall by the New York Liberty in the 2020 WNBA draft. Sabally missed her entire rookie season due to injury but began playing in the 2023 season for the New York Liberty, where she averaged 2.3 points per game as a backup forward. In 2023, she won the WNBA Commissioner's Cup with the New York Liberty. Outside of playing, In the 2022-23 season, Nyara Sabally joined the Sacramento State coaching staff as an assistant coach.

Lamin Sabally

Lamin is Nyara Sabally's younger brother. He played high school basketball at perennial powerhouse Bella Vista and also played for ALBA Berlin's U18 basketball team. In the 2023-24 season, he joined the University of the Incarnate Word’s basketball team in San Antonio, Texas, but did not play the full season.
