Patrick Beverley

Patrick Beverley is an American basketball player who plays for the Philadelphia 76ers. Born on July 12, 1988, Beverley is known for his defense-oriented game at the point guard position.

Selected with the 42nd overall pick by the Los Angeles Lakers in 2008 NBA Draft, Beverley was quickly traded to the Miami Heat, but it took a few years before his NBA dream came true. The Miami Heat cut him from the roster, as Beverley decided to take his talent to the European leagues, playing for teams like BC Dnipro, Olympiacos Piraeus, and Spartak St. Petersburg.

His time in Europe was marked by significant achievements, including being crowned EuroCup MVP in 2012 and winning the Russian Cup in 2011. Beverley developed his game to be a tenacious defensive player as he earned the title of Russian League Defensive Player of the Year in 2011, in addition to being named an All-Star and Guard of the Year in the same season.

This led to a NBA contract in 2013 when the Houston Rockets signed Beverley. Thus began the “Pat Bev Mania” in the NBA. Over the next decade, Beverley carved a niche for himself as a defensive stalwart. His defensive excellence earned him a spot on the NBA All-Defensive First Team in 2017 and two selections to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2014 and 2020.

Beverley's journey in the NBA took him to various teams, from the Los Angeles Clippers (2017–2021) to the Minnesota Timberwolves (2021–2022), Los Angeles Lakers (2022–2023), and the Chicago Bulls (2023), he consistently brought intensity and defensive prowess to the court.

Currently playing for the Philadelphia 76ers as an off the bench impact player, Beverley will help give Philly a boost defensively and also bring leadership to the dressing room.
