Xavier Tillman Parents

Xavier Tillman is a professional basketball player who plays as a center /power forward for the NBA franchise, the Boston Celtics. Tillman’s basketball career began during his high school days as he attended Forest Hills Central in Grand Rapids, Michigan. As a freshman there, Tillman averaged 13.9 points, 7.6 rebounds, and 4.3 blocks per game as he guided his team to the semifinals of the region with a 23–1 record. He was also named to the Detroit Free Press Class A All-State first team. After just one year there the forward cum center transferred to Grand Rapids Christian High School and as a junior there Tillman averaged 16 points, 10.4 rebounds, and 2.9 assists as he shot a remarkable 62 percent from the field. In his senior year of High school, Tillman had an average of 13.9 points, 10.9 rebounds, and 5.2 assists to go along with 4.2 blocks a game as he led his school to a Class A state championship game. After his final year in high school, Xavier Tillman was named as a finalist for the Mr. Basketball of Michigan award.

Tillman had offers from various universities after finishing high school, but he chose to attend Michigan State University and play for their college men's basketball team, i.e. Michigan State Spartans. At the end of the sophomore year, Tillman was named as Big Ten Conference Sixth Player of the Year. Tillman let go of his remaining college eligibility as he declared for the 2020 NBA draft. At the draft, Tillman was selected as the 35th overall pick by the Sacramento Kings, but the same night, he was traded to the Grizzlies, where he spent three seasons before eventually being traded to the Celtics in February 2024
