Kirill Olegovich is a talented Russian ice hockey left-winger and serves as an alternative captain for the Minnesota Wild in the National Hockey League. Before the NHL, he played in the Kontinental Hockey League with Metallurg Novokuznetsk, Salavat Yulaev Ufa, and CSKA Moscow. One of his remarkable achievements in the NHL is the Calder Memorial Trophy as the Rookie of the Year in 2021, becoming the first Minnesota Wild player to claim this.

Kirill signed a two-year entry-level contract with the Wild and marked his impact in the league during his debut season in 2020-2021. He scored three points and an overtime goal in his debut game and became the first player in NHL history to do so in the debut game on January 14, 2021. On April 19, 2021, he scored his 37th point and became the only player to score 37 points in a rookie season after Marian Gaborik in 2000-2001. His performance impressed the Wilds throughout his rookie season, earning him the Calder Memorial Trophy. In September 2021, he signed a five-year contract with the Minnesota Wild for $45 million, making him the highest-paid sophomore player in the history of the NHL. During his second season in the NHL, he continued his dominance and broke the franchise record for goals and points, earning the spot in the NHL All-Star Game. He finished the season with 47 goals and 108 points.

In the 2022-2023 season, Kapriov continued to shine. He became the first player in the history of the Minnesota Wild to score 40 goals for two consecutive seasons. His incredible performance has made him a key player in the Minnesota Wild.

Kirill Kaprizov Contract

The 26-year-old Russian left-winger is set to earn a salary of $12,500,000 with a cap hit of $9,000,000 for the 2023-24. He was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the 2015 NHL Entry draft and since then he has signed two contracts. The first contract was worth $27,775,000. The entry-level two way contract with the Wild was worth $2,775,000 with a cap hit of $925,000. His second contract was a five-year extension contract worth $45,000,000 with a cap hit of $9,000,000. Kaprizov has played four seasons in the NHL and contributed 246 points in 215 regular season games and 12 playoff points in 19 games. He will be a free agent after the 2025-2026 season.

Kirill Kaprizov Family

Kirill Kaprizov was born on April 26, 1997, in Novokuznetsk, Russia to parents Natalya Kaprizova and Oleg Kaprizov. Kirill and his family follow Christianity, they are Orthodox Christians. He showed his passion for hockey at the age of just four. He traveled daily from his village to downtown Novokuznetsk to practice. He later shifted to the city to pursue a hockey career and develop his skills in the sport. He began his junior hockey journey with the Kuznetskie Medvedi junior team where he learned and developed himself for professional hockey. Kaprizov debuted in the Kontinental Hockey League during the 2014-2015 season with his hometown club Metallurg Novokuznetsk where he excelled and was eventually selected by the Minnesota Wild in the NHL.
