10:20 pm local time, 5:20 pm IST: Sydney Sixers win by three wickets
Sydney Sixers: 183/7 after 19.5 overs Steve Smith: 52(31b) | Lloyd Pope: 2/33 (4 overs) Lachlan Shaw: 32(21b) | Jamie Overton: 2/35 (4 overs)
A dramatic win for the Sixers. At one stage, it looked as if things were going down hill for them but they managed to hold onto their own and did a fine job of getting over the line.
Steve Smith and Josh Philippe walked out to open the batting and the latter departed cheaply. Smith continued to ride on his good form and scored runs but halfway through the contest he lost his wicket followed by a couple of batters departing in quick succession.
However, Lachlan Shaw and Ben Dwarshuis would stick together in the middle, stitching together 55 runs for the sixth wicket. Both would then be dismissed soon after but Hayden Kerr and Sean Abbott were called on with the bat in hand and did the job, helping the Sixers go over the line.
Adelaide Strikers failed to make the most of the situation the Sixers were in, which saw them concede the game. They had them 92/5 but failed to capitalise on their errors. Jamie Overton and Lloyd Pope shared two wickets between them. Jordan Buckingham picked up a wicket and so did Henry Thornton, who was a bit expensive with the ball in hand.
19.5 Henry Thornton to Sean Abbott, ONE RUN AND THE SIXERS GET THERE! Full and on the off stump, Abbott knocks it towards square leg and picks up a quick run ending the game in their favour. Sydney Sixers win by three wickets!
19.4 Henry Thornton to Hayden Kerr, full toss on the middle and leg stump. Kerr hits it towards square leg for a single. Scores are level!
19.3 Henry Thornton to Hayden Kerr, full and outside the off stump. Kerr hits that one towards extra cover off the toe end of the bat and runs hard between the sticks for a brace. Sixers need 2 runs to win off the three balls in hand
19.3 Henry Thornton to Hayden Kerr, full and outside the off stump. Kerr has a huge swing and a miss. The umpire has given it a wide! Shocking!
19.2 Henry Thornton to Hayden Kerr, FOUR! KERR FINDS THE GAP! Full and outside the off stump, Kerr hits it with all the might he has and the ball runs past extra cover and mid-on to the fence for a boundary
19.1 Henry Thornton to Sean Abbott, full and outside the off stump. Hit towards deep extra cover for aisngle
Henry Thornton [2-0-24-1] comes back into the attack
