10:33 pm local time (5:03 pm IST): So that will do it for tonight from Docklands. But do catch us first thing tomorrow for the 5th and final Test match of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy from the Sydney Cricket Ground, starting 10:30 am local time (5:00 am IST). For now, this is the pair of Arya and Bidipto taking your leave. Keep following Sportskeeda!
Chris Lynn (Player of the Match): Yeah net run rate was important. That is why we took the power surge early. We could have finished it a couple of overs earlier but it is what it is. Yeah that's when Tim Paine has been very good. He has been keeping the boys fresh. Have asked us to not change our game plan. Llyod was whacked early in the piece. Spin to win for the Adelaide Strikers. Look I have always said that I don't loose confidence. If you are not scoring runs, it's the value you bring as far as leadership is concerned.
10:24 pm local time (4:54 pm IST):
Adelaide Strikers win by 5 wickets with 17 balls to spare!
Chris Lynn 88 (51) | Henry Thornton - 3/22 (4) Josh Brown 66 (41) | Adam Zampa - 2/29 (4)
It took the Strikers more than 17 overs to get the job done but the damage was already done inside 12 overs when Chris Lynn got out. Because by that time, 116 runs were on the board!
Lynn played a knock for the ages on a tricky batting wicket! He replaced Matthew Short at the top of the order and made the most of this opportunity. The Chris Lynn of old was back in the hot seat tonight, hitting the ball hard on both sides of the wicket and putting the pressure right back on the bowlers.
D'Arcy Short did not score that many, but he gave Lynn good support in a 104-run opening stand in only 11 overs. Chris Lynn was put down by Tim Seifert and Short got away with an LBW case which was not reviewed. But they never let the bowlers off the hook, making the pitch look quite benign.
There was a bit of a slide after the fall of the second wicket and it took the Strikers some time to get to the target. Ollie Pope got dropped by Tim Seifert again, which came at an inappropriate time for the Renegades.
But then, not a lot was left to do and the visitors were able to get to the finish line after losing half their side. This win gives them much needed two points. The fact that they have won without their star player and regular captain Matthew Short, makes it even more special!
The Renegades need to pull up their socks in all three departments come the next game, if they want to make the final four.
17.1 Jacob Bethell to Jamie Overton, that should be game set and match. A flatter trajectory delivery following Overton, thuds onto his pads and trickles away towards the short third man region, takes a leg bye single.
We have another over here, friends! That's just a formality really, as the Strikers have one more run to pick up a solid win. Can another wicket fall too?

16.6 Tom Stewart Rogers to Alex Ross, Ross comes down the track and mistimes the swipe across the line, was a back of a length delivery and the timing wasn't quite there.
Scores are level.
16.5 Tom Stewart Rogers to Jamie Overton, shorter length delivery around the middle stump channel, pulled away towards the deep square leg region for a single.
16.4 Tom Stewart Rogers to Alex Ross, Ross makes some room and tries to pull the shorter length delivery, gets hit on the body, trickles to the right of the pitch and scampers through for a leg bye single.
16.3 Tom Stewart Rogers to Jamie Overton, shorter length delivery around the chest height, helped around the corner towards the fine leg region and takes a single.
Jamie Overton, RHB, is at the crease.
The Renegades would have liked Pope to go back to the pavilion a little bit earlier when the catch got dropped by Tim Seifert! But anyway, he goes with 4 runs left.
16.2 Tom Stewart Rogers to Ollie Pope, WICKET! Pope comes down the track and tries to swipe away the back of a length delivery over the square leg fence. Timed it well but the elevation wasn't quite there, ends up hitting that straight down the throat of the deep square leg fielder who doesn't make a mistake.
Ollie Pope c Jacob Bethell b Tom Stewart Rogers 12 (10b, 0x4, 1x6)
One hit away are the Strikers from victory.
16.1 Tom Stewart Rogers to Alex Ross, taps away the back of a length delivery around middle and leg, down towards the point region and takes a quick single.
Tom Stewart Rogers [3.0-0-28-1] comes back into the attack.
All the Strikers need now is one big hit to seal the deal! They have very closed things out for themselves. A win is very much on the cards, quite deservingly!
