That is all from the action here. Time for Sourabh to sign off on behalf of Soumarya, good bye and take care!
Tom Rogers (Melbourne Renegades)- "We weren't happy with how we bowled in the powerplay in the previous game and myself along with Fergus gone back to the drawing board trying to improve. We put the ball in the right areas and had a bit of luck. Tim Seifert pulled off an absolute screamer. Fergus bowled really well and he will get the five wicket haul hopefully soon. "
21:30 Local Time (16:00 IST): Melbourne Renegades thump Hobart Hurricanes by 6 wickets and win with 11 overs remaining
Tim Seifert 37*(19) | Will Sutherland 3/14(3) Nathan Ellis 35(29) & 2/12(3)
Melbourne Renegades have given the Hobart Hurricanes a proper shellacking and they have finished off the chase in 9 overs to register their first win of the season.
This also means that Hobart Hurricanes have started off their season with a loss for the fourth consecutive season and this time is is not just a loss but a loss that might be equivalent to two with the huge dent to their net run-rate
Chasing a paltry 75, JFM started the innings with a first-ball four. He fell soon after but then Tim Seifert walked in and took apart the bowling in the powerplay as the Renegades raced to fifty in 4 overs.
The going got slow after that as Nathan Ellis came into the attack and he continued his good outing with a couple of wickets to go with his 35 with the bat but that was never going to be enough for the Hurricanes.
Eventually, the winning runs were hit off the final ball of the 9th over to close a lop-sided contest if there was ever one

8.3 Nathan Ellis to Mackenzie Harvey, back of a good length and around the line of off stump. It was pace off again and Harvey slashed hard at it. He didn't get bat on ball.

7.2 Riley Meredith to Laurie Evans, back of a good length and around the line of middle stump. Evans doesn't get bat on ball as he tries to punch it towards cover.
Ellis feels that there was a noise and he reviews. Ultra edge shows that there is a spike as the ball was next to the bat. The decision will be reversed and the Renegades have lost their fourth wicket now.
Laurie Evans c Ben McDermott b Riley Meredith 7(5b, 0x4, 1x6).
7.1 Riley Meredith to Laurie Evans, SIXXX!!! FLAT!!! It was pitched up and on the pads from Meredith. Evans picked up the length and just whipped it away over the deep square leg region for a MAXIMUM.
