Indian mixed martial artist Anshul Jubli, aka King of Lions, was born in New Delhi on January 13, 1995. Jubli is the second fighter after Bharat Khandare to be signed by the UFC and the first to win promotion.

In 2019, Bollywood actor Tiger Shroff founded Matrix Fight Night (MFN), where Jubli made his professional mixed martial arts debut. In his first fight, which took place in Mumbai on June 29, 2019, he prevailed over Sanjeet Budhwar by decision. Jubli advanced to the semifinals after Patrick Sho Usami was disqualified from the 2022 Road to UFC Lightweight Tournament for failing to make a weight cut. Jubli won a split decision against South Korea's Kyung Pyo Kim in the semifinals.

In the UFC Fight Night: Lewis vs. Spivak finals, he then squared up against Jeka Saragih of Indonesia. Jubli won the bout by TKO submission in the second round and received the UFC contract and Performance of the Night as a result of this victory.
