The NASCAR Xfinity Series was established in 1982 and is the second-highest level of professional stock-car racing run by NASCAR. It has always proved a very successful pathway for those seeking to progress into the NASCAR Cup Series. Stewart-Haas Racing said it would stop its operations in both the Cup and Xfinity Series after the 2024 season, which is a significant change for one of the more well-known teams of NASCAR. At the same time, the series continues working hard to develop young talent: witness the signing of 18-year-old rookie William Sawalich by Joe Gibbs Racing to race in the 2025 season. Sawalich will drive the No. 18 Toyota showing that this series does indeed help shape future stars. In 2024, Justin Allgaier won the championship for the series keeping up the well-established tradition of close and exciting races.
