Cam Hart is an American football cornerback who has graduated from University of Notre Dame with a Bachelor in Political Science. The 6-foot-3, 207-pound Baltimore native was rated a 4-star recruit by ESPN coming out of Good Counsel High School.
During his high school days, Hart played as both wide receiver and safety. During his junior season, Hart recorded 30.5 tackles and two interceptions as defensive back. He was named to the All-Washington Catholic Athletic Conference First Team.
Hart began his collegiate football journey with Notre Dame over offers from Boston College, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan State, North Carolina, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and a few others. He was widely regarded as a wide receiver coming out of Good Counsel but he transitioned to the cornerback position, which has paid dividends for Hart in years to come.
His freshman campaign was marred by a season-ending shoulder injury and he managed to play only three games. The following season Hart started in nine games and tallied two pass breakups and three tackles.
As a junior, Hart earned the starting role as the cornerback in 10 of 13 games and racked up 739 snaps, 36 tackles, six assists and 10 stops. Hart’s development was slowed down in the first two seasons due to his shoulder issues but still managed to be a full-timer for the Fighting Irish in 2021.
Hart continued his momentum in his senior season for Notre Dame starting in 10 out of 11 games at the corner. He registered 568 snaps, 25 tackles, four assists and 14 stops. In his final season with Notre Dame, Hart was named the team captain and played in all 12 regular season games registering 572 snaps in the process.
Cam Hart has been a versatile contributor throughout his collegiate career lining up on the left and right sides and also in a wide variety of coverage shells. During his five seasons with the Fighting Irish, Hart has developed into one of the top corners of the country and announced his entry to the 2024 NFL draft.
