Damar Romeyelle Hamlin is an American football safety for the Buffalo Bills, as of the 2024 NFL season. The Bills selected Hamlin as the 212th pick in the sixth round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He started zero games and appeared in 14, recording 2 combined tackles and 2 pass deflections in his rookie year. Hamlin became a regular starter in his second year with the Bills, starting 13 games in 2022. He posted career-high numbers that season, as he played in 15 games recording 91 total tackles, 1.5 sacks, 6 tackles for loss, and 63 solo tackles, as per Pro Football Reference. However, a scary incident occurred on January 2, 2023, when Hamlin suffered an episode of commotio cordis on the field in a game against the Cincinnati Bengals when trying to tackle Tee Higgins. After appearing in only five games in the 2023 season, Hamlin has assumed the role of a starter for the Bills in the 2024 NFL season and as of Week 15 of the 2024 season, he has started 14 games.

Hamlin grew up in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania, and went to Central Catholic High School in Pittsburgh. He remained in the same city to pursue his college education by committing to the University of Pittsburgh, playing for the Panthers from 2016 to 2020. Hamlin was named to Second-team All-ACC in 2020, as per Pittsburgh Panthers' official website.
