He played college football at Iowa and was drafted by the 49ers in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. He is a three-time Pro Bowler and was a First-team All-Pro in 2019.

Kittle played college football at the University of Iowa before being drafted by the 49ers in the fifth round of the 2017 NFL Draft. A five-time Pro Bowler and two-time first-team All-Pro (2019, 2023), he is widely regarded as one of the league's top tight ends. Kittle was born in Madison, Wisconsin, and later moved to Iowa. He comes from an athletic family, with his father, Bruce, a former college football captain, and his mother, Jan, an All-American basketball player at Drake University.
