Jalen McMillan played college football for the Washington Huskies as the wide receiver for the team. He started his college football career in 2020 and played for four seasons with the Huskies before declaring for the NFL draft. Prior to college, McMillan played his high school football for the San Joaquin Memorial High School in Fresno, California. He was a four-star recruit coming out of high school who decided to play for the University of Washington and declined other offers from programs such as Notre Dame and Alabama.
During his time with San Joaquin Memorial High School, McMillan had a total of 3,045 yards, 31 touchdowns, and 162 receptions as a junior and a senior. He could also play baseball which led to him getting offers from USC and Oklahoma to be a dual-sport athlete.
In McMillan’s true freshman season in Washington, he only played 3 games but in the 2022 season, McMillan exploded, recording numbers such as 1098 receiving touchdowns, 79 receptions, and 9 receiving touchdowns. He was named 2022 All-Pac 12 Honorable Mention.
In his final season with the Huskies in 2023, he was also named to the 2023 Biletnikoff Award Preseason Watch List. Unfortunately, McMillan suffered a knee injury which kept him away for four games and limited him from going all in. Despite his injury, McMillan decided to play rather than sit out. He was fairly efficient while he played and recorded 559 receiving yards, 5 receiving touchdowns, 45 receptions, and also had his first rushing touchdown in his college football career.
McMillan is a 6 feet 1 inch, 189 pound wide receiver. He has a lot of speed which he uses to run routes and catch passes that may be difficult to reach. McMillan has demonstrated excellent catching technique and has an excellent game IQ. His quick head fakes, hesitation moves, and speed can leave defensive backs lost at times. McMillan is clearly ready for the NFL and with further development, he can play a variety of roles for an NFL team.
