He enrolled at Blackman High School located in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, where he began playing high school football in the quarterback position. Considering his performance, he earned a four-star recruit rating. He continued his football journey and chose to play college football at the University of Tennessee. During his tenure at Tennessee, he played as a wide receiver and concluded his collegiate career with 146 receptions for 2,153 yards.
Jennings embarked on his NFL journey after being selected as the 217th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2020 NFL Draft by the 49ers.
