Javonte Williams is an American football running back for the Dallas Cowboys as of March 2025. The Denver Broncos selected Williams with the 35th pick in the second round of the 2021 NFL Draft. He made his NFL debut with the Broncos in Week 1 against the New York Giants, while recording 14 carries for 45 yards in 2021. According to Pro Football Reference, Williams finished his rookie season appearing in all 17 games and recording four rushing touchdowns and three receiving touchdowns. He was also named to the PFWA All-Rookie Team the same season. As of the 2024 NFL season, he has recorded 2,394 rushing yards, 158 receptions for 966 receiving yards, and 16 total touchdowns in 54 games. In March 2025, he signed a one-year contract with the Dallas Cowboys.

Williams attended Wallace-Rose Hill High School, where he began his football career. He started his collegiate career with the University of North Carolina in 2018. As a freshman in 2018, Williams played in 11 games, while rushing 43 times for 224 yards and recording five touchdowns. As a sophomore in 2019, he played 13 games while recording 5 touchdowns (via Sports Reference). In 2020, he earned Second-Team P All-America honors, was named PFF ACC Player of the Year, made the AP All-ACC First Team, and was selected to the All-ACC Second Team.
