Jaylen Wright is an American football player who plays the running back position. Studying at the University of Tennessee since 2021, Wright elected to declare for the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft following his junior year of college. He is projected to be selected in round 3 of the Draft according to several draft experts.

Wright was born on April 1, 2003, and attended Southern Durham High School in Durham, North Carolina. Playing the position of a running back in high school football as well, Wright was given a three-star rating by scouting websites such as 247Sports.com, Rivals.com, and ESPN.com. Along with playing on the high school football team, Wright was also a member of the school’s track and field team.

In 2021, Wright made his way to college football as he joined the University of Tennessee as a freshman. Since then he has played three seasons on the Tennessee Volunteers football team amassing nearly 2300 rushing yards from 368 carries and 34 games for an average of 6.2 yards per carry. He also made 18 trips to the endzone in his three-year college career.

Wright has a pretty good frame for a running back and has explosive speed which he uses to his advantage. However, he is more of a north-south runner which restricts his ability to cut and evade tackles.

Jaylen Wright NIL Deal Worth

Jaylen Wright has an estimated NIL deal valuation of $500K as per the NIL valuation website On3. This places him at the 103rd spot in college football NIL rankings. As a member of the Tennessee Volunteers football team, Wright is represented by Spyre Sports Group.

As for Wright’s NIL deal, he had an agreement with the Volunteer Club in 2023 in which they had planned a new NIL Event Series. Unfortunately, though, there are no further details regarding the events or the NIL deal apart from this. He is very tough to bring down in the open field as he can reach good sprint speed and has even demonstrated his strength by staying up and dragging tacklers on many occasions.

On the flip side, his linear style of running is a big disadvantage as he doesn’t look for east-west options. Furthermore, he has had problems with fumbling the ball and might need to improve his overall awareness in the backfield.
