Jordan Turner, a Farmington, Michigan native, has established himself as a vital defensive player for the University of Wisconsin Badgers football team. This redshirt junior inside linebacker has a tremendous work ethic and outstanding tackling abilities, making him an important player on the field.
Turner started his football career at Farmington High School, where he was ranked as a three-star prospect by major scouting organizations such as 247 Sports, ESPN, and Rivals. His senior year performance was especially impressive, earning him second-team all-state honours from the Associated Press. Turner's leadership abilities were also shown when he served as a three-year football captain.
Aside from football, Turner demonstrated his athleticism by participating in track and field. He placed sixth in the discus throw at the 2018 MHSAA Division 1 Track & Field Championships. More significantly, he demonstrated a talent for interceptions, recording two in back-to-back triumphs. Turner continued to increase in 2022. He played an important role, starting 11 games at linebacker and finishing second on the Badgers with 65 total tackles.
Turner also disturbed opponent attacks by recording 5.0 tackles for loss, 2.0 sacks, and an interception. His notable performances were eight tackles against Illinois and a career-high 10 tackles with a sack versus Iowa. Turner's defensive domination culminated in an outstanding performance in the Guaranteed Rate Bowl.
He was named defensive MVP after recording eight tackles and 1.5 tackles for loss, which helped the Badgers win. Turner remained consistent during the 2023 season. He appeared in 11 games, starting seven at inside linebacker, and cemented his status as one of the team's top tacklers. With 61 tackles, 6.5 tackles for loss, and 3.0 sacks, he remained a disruptive presence on defense.
