Josh Proctor played his college for the Ohio State Buckeyes and was the safety for his team. He started his college football career in 2018 and spent six seasons, from 2018-2023, before declaring for the 2024 NFL draft. Proctor has a long frame along with his athletic abilities and solid footwork. On the offensive side of the field, Proctor recorded 318 rushing yards and 4 rushing touchdowns. Meanwhile, on the defensive side of the field, he recorded 40 tackles, five interceptions, and two pick-sixes.

Proctor started his college football career with the Buckeyes in 2018 and in 2020, he had 20 tackles, an interception, and a fumble recovery, in 7 games that he played. In 2021, Proctor suffered a fractured leg in week two which led to him missing out the rest of the season, however, in just two games that he played he had 10 tackles. For his final season with the Buckeyes, Proctor had his best season with 47 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, an interception, and an interception return touchdown. For his performance in 2023, Proctor was named to the Third-team All-Big Ten. He was also an honorable mention All-Big Ten in 2020.
