Lavonte Lamar David is a professional American football linebacker for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the NFL. The Buccaneers selected David as the 58th pick in the second round of the 2012 NFL Draft. In his 12 years of NFL career, he has made 181 appearances and combined for 1,480 total and 1,035 solo tackles. He is a one-time Super Bowl (LV) champion and a one-time Pro Bowl nominee in 2015.

Going to Northwestern High School, they ended each year undefeated and won back-to-back state championships in 2006 and 2007. USA Today ranked Northwestern as the top team in the nation in 2007. He committed to the Fort Scott Community College in 2008. In his rookie year, David combined for 98 tackles. He went through an undefeated season, before losing in the championship game in 2009. He transferred to the University of Nebraska starting his junior year in 2010. He posted 152 tackles, setting a single-season record that year. David won the inaugural Butkus-Fitzgerald Big Ten Linebacker of the Year and was named to First-Team All-American and First-Team All-Big Ten in 2011.
