A member lined up in the defensive lineman group for the 2024 NFL Draft is Marcus Harris from Auburn University. Harris plays the defensive tackle position and has been playing collegiate football for the past five years.

As a native of Montgomery, Alabama, Harris attended Park Crossing High School in the same locality as his birthplace. Rated as a three-star recruit out of high school, Harris decided to join the University of Kansas to continue his football career in college by playing for the Kansas Jayhawks football team in 2019. However, after just two seasons in Kansas, Harris decided to transfer to Auburn to play for his favorite team, the Auburn Tigers.

In his three years at Auburn, Harris was putting up decent performances the first two years with nearly identical stat sheets. However, his final season in 2023 saw an improved performance as he finished the year with 40 tackles of which 11 were for a loss of yards. He backed that up with seven sacks and one forced fumble earning him his first Second-Team All-SEC selection.

On the field, Harris has shown his quickness and agility to get the job done. He is able to punch above his weight and hold his own but bigger offensive linemen could get the better of him as he lacks the size coming in at just 295 lb. Nevertheless, he has good football instincts and the athletic ability to find the gaps while defending the run and as a pass rusher, but his moves during pass rush need to be worked on further at the next level.

Marcus Harris NIL

Marcus Harris through his NIL deals has around $134K as per the NIL website On3. His $134K is divided as a roster value of $102K and an NIL value of $32K. Harris is ranked at the 819th spot in the NIL college football rankings.

The introduction of NIL has changed the overall landscape of collegiate sports to a certain extent in the United States. NIL has become a boon for both companies as well as college athletes alike as brands use the name, image, and likeness of the players to promote their products while in return the players receive compensation mostly in the form of money.
