Maxx Crosby, born on August 22, 1997, in Lapeer, Michigan, is a standout defensive end for the Las Vegas Raiders in the NFL. Crosby has become one of the league's top defensive players since being selected in the fourth round of the 2019 NFL Draft with the 106th pick. He played college football at Eastern Michigan University for four years, earning First-team All-MAC honors twice in 2017 and 2018. The Michigan native finished his secondary education at Colleyville Heritage High School.
Since entering the NFL in 2019, Crosby has far outweighed his draft status as a fourth-round pick. The 3-time pro bowler, who played in 16 games during his rookie year finished the season with 10 sacks 16 tackles for loss, and 4 forced fumbles. While he couldn’t match his production from his rookie season in the following two years, he still led the team in quarterback hits (30) in the 2021 season. After signing a 4-year contract extension with the Raiders in 2022, Crosby rewarded the franchise by having a breakout season in 2022, finishing with 12.5 sacks, three forced fumbles, and a league-leading 22 tackles for loss. The two-time Second-team All-Pro took his game a notch further in 2023 by piling up career-high numbers across the board: 14.5 sacks and 90 total tackles. The 27-year-old (as of December 2024) led the NFL in tackles for loss (23) for a consecutive second year in 2023. After dealing with an ankle injury for the whole 2024 season which he sustained during week 2, he finally decided to go ahead with surgery and announced it on December 14, ending his 2024 campaign.
