Najee Harris is an American football running back for the Pittsburgh Steelers as of the 2024 NFL season. The Pittsburgh Steelers selected him as the 24th overall pick in the first round of the 2021 NFL Draft. Making his debut for the Steelers in 2021, Harris has crossed 1,000 rushing yards in each of his first three seasons in the league as of November 2024. Harris graduated with a degree in Consumer Services from the University of Alabama before he started his NFL career. His first couple of years were not as eventful as he was down in the pecking order as the number four and number three running back on the team. In 2019, the California native got his first starting opportunity, one which he grabbed with both hands. He had over 1,200 rushing yards on the season to go with his 13 rushing touchdowns, and there was quite a bit of speculation around him as many expected him to declare for the 2020 NFL Draft. However, Harris decided to return to the Crimson Tide for his senior year and had his best year in college as he rushed for 1,466 yards and led the NCAA with 26 rushing touchdowns. He would finish his college career as a two-time CFP National Champion. As of week 9 of the 2024 NFL season, the one-time Pro Bowler has totaled more than 4,800 yards in his career while getting into the endzone 30 times.

Najee Harris’ mother is Tiana Harris (née Hicks). She was the one who raised Harris and his four siblings mostly as a single mother. Becoming a mother at a very young age, she had to eventually leave school to take care of her family.

Harris’ father was also into sports which is probably how the 26-year-old (as of November 2024) has gotten to where he is today. Harris also said that his father got into trouble but it was all to try and survive and help out the family.
