A young and outstanding college football player. Tez Johnson is working hard towards his dream of one day playing in the NFL. Currently playing for the Oregon Ducks college football team as of March 2024, Johnson was skeptical just a few months back on whether or not to enter the 2024 NFL Draft. He has since decided to return to college football for one more year as he sets his sights on improving his game before taking the next step.

The star receiver’s biological mother is Shamika Johnson but is now known as Shamika Posey as per the receiver’s bio on Troy Trojan’s page for Tez Johnson. It appears that she has remarried to John Posey.

Johnson’s mother has had a difficult time raising her son and his siblings. Soon after the birth of her son Tez, her then-husband (Tez’s biological father) committed suicide leaving her to manage the household. Unfortunately, though, Shamika Johnson had not even graduated from high school which meant that finding a good and stable job was hard to come by. Unable to support her children financially, she decided to give him up for adoption when he was in his teens. According to Shamika Johnson, she has ended up saving her son’s life which otherwise could have landed him in jail.

Johnson to this day still shares a very nice bond with his biological mother. She likes to call him by his actual name which is Keyonteze. Although the two are not able to spend each and every day together, Johnson’s mother lives happily knowing her child is safe and on a journey toward a better life.

There are no details available about Tez Johnson’s biological father. His name has also not been disclosed and the only piece of information available is the fact that he died when Tez was an infant due to suicide.

Tez Johnson’s Adoptive Parents

As mentioned earlier, Tez Johnson was given up for adoption when he was in high school. He was taken in by the Nix family consisting of father Patrick Nix and mother Krista Chapman.

Patrick Nix is a former college-level football quarterback who has been coaching various high schools in Alabama for over a decade now. He was also the coach for his biological son, Bo, who is now on his way to the NFL as a quarterback while also coaching his adoptive son - Tez Johnson.
